Akshaya Navami   –  Mathura Pradakshine – Kruta Yuga – Kushmanda Navami

  • Kartheeka Shudda Navami.

  • It is the Yugadi Day for Krutha Yuga

  • It is believed that the Srihari Seva and Brahmana Suvasini Seva whatever punya Karya which we are doing it on this day will fet more punya, i.e., Akshaya and would lead to Moksha.

  • On this day, it is advisable to have Ganga/Kaveri Snaana and the Tarpanadhikaaris to give tarpana on this day

  • Kushmanda Navami –  This Navami is also known as “Kushmanda Navami” as Srimannarayana is believed to have vanquished daithya named “Kushmanda” and thus helping dharma sthapana.  Kooshmaanda daana to be given –  Kooshmanda daana, (pumpkin-booda gumbalakai)  given on this day will releave garbhadhosha and we will have satsantaanapraapthi.  As Dwidala Vratha is observed during the period instead of Boodagumbala Vegetable, we can give Coconut daana also which is also of the same effect that of Kooshmaanda. However, even you can give kooshmanda (booda gumbalakai), but the person who is the receiver, if he is observing Dwidala Vratha, can utilise once the vratha is over after Uttana Dwadashi.

  • Mathura Pradakshine –  “Mathura Pradakshine” to be done on Kartheeka Shukla Navami.  On this day, bhagavan Srikrishna’s vishesha sannidhana will be there in Mathura.

On this day Krishna Bhaktaas (Vaishnavaas) concentrate on walking around the Mathura city. Some of the holy places covered on the Parikrama include Vishram Ghat, Rangeshwar Temple, Bhuteshwar, Kaans Qila and Chamunda Devi.
