satyam vidhaatum nijaBRutyabhaaShitam –  ಸತ್ಯಂ ವಿಧಾತುಂ ನಿಜಭೃತ್ಯಭಾಷಿತಂ

 

Bhagavatha Shloka  – Saptama Skanda Adhyaya 8 shloka 18

ಸತ್ಯಂ ವಿಧಾತುಂ ನಿಜಭೃತ್ಯಭಾಷಿತಂ ವ್ಯಾಪ್ತಿಂ ಚ ಭೂತೇಷ್ವಖಿಲೇಷು ಚಾತ್ಮನ: |
ಅದೃಷ್ಯತಾತ್ಯದ್ಭುತರೂಪಮುದ್ವಹನ್ ಸ್ತಂಭೇ ಸಭಾಯಾಂ ನ ಮೃಗಂ ನ ಮಾನುಷಂ||
सत्यं विधातुं निजभृत्यभाषितं व्याप्तिं च भूतेष्वखिलेषु चात्मन: ।
अदृष्यतात्यद्भुतरूपमुद्वहन् स्तंभे सभायां न मृगं न मानुषं॥
Meaning –  Srihari in order to prove the Blessings (Vara) given by Brahmadevaru, and to prove the words of Prahlada raajaru, and to prove that he is sarvavyapi, he showed the Nrusimha roopa.

For the above Shloka, Sri Satya Dharma Sreepadaru has given so many meanings in his vyakhyana.

satyam vidhaatum nijaBRutyabhaaShitam –  ಸತ್ಯಂ ವಿಧಾತುಂ ನಿಜಭೃತ್ಯಭಾಷಿತಂ

1. nija bhakta: EkaaMta bhakta: prahlaada:; tEna bhaaShitaM sa sarvatrEtyaadirUpaM satyaM vidhaatuM |

ನಿಜ ಭಕ್ತ: ಏಕಾಂತ ಭಕ್ತ: ಪ್ರಹ್ಲಾದ:; ತೇನ ಭಾಷಿತಂ ಸ ಸರ್ವತ್ರೇತ್ಯಾದಿರೂಪಂ ಸತ್ಯಂ ವಿಧಾತುಂ |

Prahlaada rajaru had told Hiranyakashipu that Srihari is sarvavyapta. To prove that he showed his roopa in a piller.  That is why Narasimha devaru is called as “Stambaarbaka”.

2.  nija bhRutya: brahmaa tadbhaaShitaM, ” tathaapi vitaraamyanga varaanyadapi durlabhaan” iti satyam kartum |

ನಿಜ ಭೃತ್ಯ: ಬ್ರಹ್ಮಾ ತದ್ಭಾಷಿತಂ, “ತಥಾಪಿ ವಿತರಾಮ್ಯಂಗ ವರಾನ್ಯದಪಿ ದುರ್ಲಭಾನ್” ಇತಿ ಸತ್ಯಂ ಕರ್ತುಂ |

nija BRutya Sri brahmadEvaru had blessed HiraNyakashipu, and told “even though you have asked for the boon which can’t be given, I will give you the boon”.  He had conceded whatever boon he had sought.    To prove Brahma’s words Srihari came in as Narasimha.

3. ನಿಜೇನ ಸ್ವೇನೈವ, ಭೃತ್ಯೌ ಜಯವಿಜಯೌ ಪ್ರತಿ ಭಾಷಿತಂ – ಮಯೈವ ವಧ್ಯೌ ಭವತಂ ತ್ರಿಜನ್ಮಸು” ಇತ್ಯಾದಿಕಂ ಸತ್ಯಂ ಕರ್ತುಂ ಅವತತಾರ |

nijEna svEnaiva, bhRutyou jayavijayou prati bhaaShitaM – mayaiva vadhyou bhavataM trijanmasu” ityaadikaM satyaM kartuM avatataara |

Srihari had assured the nijabhrutyaas Jaya Vijaya that they HE only will  kill them in all their 3 avataaraas. So he came in as Varaha to Kill Hiranyaksha, as Narasimha to kill Hiranyakashipu, as Ramachandra to kill Ravana-Kumbakarna and as Krishna to kill Shishupala-Dantavaktra.

4. nijabhRutyai: sanakaadibhi: bhaaShitaM durjanmatrikaM saMpatyanaMtaraM muktou bhavataM iti saMhaaraM vihaaya yat saMpatti: tadRutaM kartuM |

ನಿಜಭೃತ್ಯೈ: ಸನಕಾದಿಭಿ: ಭಾಷಿತಂ ದುರ್ಜನ್ಮತ್ರಿಕಂ ಸಂಪತ್ಯನಂತರಂ ಮುಕ್ತೌ ಭವತಂ ಇತಿ ಸಂಹಾರಂ ವಿಹಾಯ ಯತ್ ಸಂಪತ್ತಿ: ತದೃತಂ ಕರ್ತುಂ |

Sanakaadi  Rushees had assured that Jaya vijaya would born as Rakshasaas and would be back to their original place after rakshasa janma.   To prove that Srihari came in as Nrusimha to kill Hiranyakashipu

5.  ನಿಜಸ್ಯ ಸ್ವಕೀಯಸ್ಯ ಬ್ರಹ್ಮಣೋ ಭೃತ್ಯೋ ಹಿರಣ್ಯಕ: ತದ್ಭಾಷಿತಂ “ಭೂತೇಭ್ಯ ತ್ವದ್ವಿಸೃಷ್ವೇಭ್ಯೋ ಮೃತ್ಯು: ಮಾ ಭೂತ್” ಇತ್ಯಾದಿ ನಿಜಭೃತ್ಯೇನ ಭಾಷಿತಂ ಸತ್ಯಂ ಕರ್ತುಂ ಸ್ತಂಭೇ ಆವಿರ್ಭಭೂವ |

 nijasya svakIyasya brahmaNO bhRutyO hiraNyaka: tadbhaaShitaM “bhUtEbhya tvadvisRuShvEbhyO mRutyu: maa bhUt” ityaadi nijabhRutyEna bhaaShitaM satyaM kartuM staMbhE AvirbhabhUva |

Hiranyaaksha had asked Brahmadeva that “He (Hiranyaka) must not be killed by any animal created by Brahma”   He was thinking that the all the animals were the creatures of Brahmadeva. But he was not known of the Creater of Brahma.   So, Parabrahma Srihari made his appearance in a piller. For him Piller itself is the mother-father.

6.  bhRutyaanaaM viShayE nijEna svEnaiva “na mE bhakta: praNashyati” iti bhaaShitaM satyaM kartuM |

ಭೃತ್ಯಾನಾಂ ವಿಷಯೇ ನಿಜೇನ ಸ್ವೇನೈವ  “ನ ಮೇ ಭಕ್ತ: ಪ್ರಣಶ್ಯತಿ” – ಇತಿ ಭಾಷಿತಂ ಸತ್ಯಂ ಕರ್ತುಂ |

In Bhagavadgeetha, he had told “ my bhaktaas will not be spoled/destroyed”.   To prove that Srihari has ensured that his bhakta prahlaada is not destroyed by Hiranyakashipu.  He saved him. 

7.  “ಯದಾ ದೇವೇಷು ವೇದೇಷು ದ್ರೋಹಂ ಕರೋತಿ”   “yadaa dEvEShu vEdEShu drOhaM karOti”

Paramatma had assured the gods that when Hiranyakashipu does droha to gods, Vedaas and to his bhakta Prahlada, he will be killed. To prove that he has come in as Nrusimha and killed him.

8.   Srihari had told in Chatushloki Bhagavata “EtaavadEva Jignaasyam yat syaat sarvatra sarvadaa” – to prove his vyaptatva he has come from the piller.

9.   Nija Bruthyaa – Dithi Devi had told that her children must be killed by Paramathma only and not to be killed by the cursing of Brahmanas”.   To prove this Srihari came in as Nrusimha in the piller

10. Nija BRutya – kashyapa RushigaLu had told Dhiti Devi that it is because of “Dushpala” that she sought the child at the bad time in the evening. He had told her that they will be killed by Bhagavanta. To prove this Srihad came in as Nrusimha in a piller.

 In this way, Prata: smaraneeya Sri Satyadharma Tirtha Sripadangalavaru has written about 20 instances to prove that “Satyam Vidhatum nijabrutyabhashitam”.
