Clarification on Hanumad Vratha/Jayanthi
Hanumad Vratha represents the day on which with the Brahma’s wishes, the day to be recognised the worshipping Hanuman with 13 dora vratha. Sri Ramachandra himself did the Vratha for the first time to give importance to Hanuman, Sugreeva, Vibheeshana also did in Tretayuga, followed by Draupadi as per the directions of Sri Krishna, and many have done it in the past. Hanumad Vratha is observed on Margashira Shukla Trayodashi
Hanumad Jayanthi represents the day on which Hanumantha was born. Hanumad Jayanthi is observed on Chaitra Hunnime
Many people especially, the sreevaishnavas call this day as Hanuma Jayanthi. Because they are not aware of the importance of this day. As such, this clarification.

This is the Vratha which was told by Sakshaat Sri Vedavyasadevaru to Dharmaraja. Draupadi performed this Vratha under the guidance of Sri krishna Paramathma. Draupadi did the Vratha and was wearing in her hands “Dora” which contained 13 knots – yellow colour thread
Seeing “dOra” in her hands Arjuna, with Kalyavesha, told her “I have tied your monkey to my chariot’s flag. He is after all a monkey. Throw the dOra”. It was one of the reasons for Pandavas vanavaasa for 13 years. From whose remembrance itself, we get Buddhi, balam, Yashassu, Dhairya, which, Arjuna neglected him because of his Kalyavesha.
Hanumantha got the blow from the vajraayudha of Indradevaru, when he tried to catch Raahu. Then Vayudevaru was angry and the entire world suffered.. Then Brahmadeva assured Vayudeva that his son Hanumantha will be Chiranjeevi, and he will perform Raamakaarya. Further Brahmadeva also gave anugraha, that those who perform Hanumad Vratha in Abhijin Muhurtha, on Margashira Shudda Trayodashi will succeed in all their endeavours. This vrata is observed for good health and prosperity.
